Contributions fund the gap between the published rate and what care costs. How to give

A family that has travelled in with a patient and is paying for treatment should not also have to work out where to eat. The trust runs a free meal service at the hospital for inpatients and the people accompanying them.

Like the ambulance and the dialysis, this is funded by the trust rather than charged for. It is one of the things donations pay for.

Service detail

The brochure describes the service and its daily cost, but the current position needs confirming.

What this page needs from the hospital

  • Current serving times
  • Who is eligible: inpatients, attendants, or both
  • Where meals are served on the campus
  • Current cost per day to the trust
  • How many days are currently sponsored, and how a donor sponsors one
  • Photographs of the service

Until that arrives this page stays deliberately short rather than carrying content nobody can stand behind. If you need any of it now, call 0261 2510050 and ask.

Ask at reception when you arrive

You do not need to arrange anything in advance, and nobody is asked to prove need before being fed.

A family that has travelled in with a patient often has nowhere to eat and no money spare for it. Feeding them is part of why the trust exists, not an extra.
